DDWH Architects directors are Donika Dobruna and Warren Howling. Donika has considerable experience of the residential sector, particularly luxury city centre developments as well as office conversion, historic building renovation and boutique hotel design. Before setting up DDWH with Warren, she worked at Paul Davis + Partners and Andrews Downie and Partners.
Warren worked for over 11 years at Gardner Stewart Architects, an award winning Design Practice and rose to Associate Director. He has great experience of residential (private and affordable) and mixed use projects, as well as retail, office and refurbishment of historic buildings. He was also Project Architect for Mile End Park, a Millennium Project.
His long career at Gardner Stewart Architects enabled him to have a pivotal design role on these projects from inception to completion, and also to build relationships with repeat clients.
DDWH Architects aim to combine design flair with pragmatics, using design to maximize the return on investment by the client. The directors have wide experience across a variety of project scales, from residential extensions and detailed planning applications, new-build and refurbishment, to brownfield redevelopment and district masterplanning.
Warren and Donika’s experience has been gained in a commercial environment – the importance of projects being delivered to programme and budget is well understood.
A commitment to environmentally responsible design has underpinned the careers of both Directors, many of the projects completed have utilized the latest techniques, materials and equipment to minimize environmental impact, long before legislation made this more of a requirement.
This knowledge and commitment to the design of environmentally appropriate solutions now forms a cornerstone of DDWH Architects.
