DIVE architects was formed by Andy Nettleton from the UK and Ia Hjärre from Sweden. Their partnership combines personalities, experience, enthusiasm and commitment.

Before you read on perhaps you want to view our web-site (www.divearchitects.com) or to contact us it would be preferable you do so by direct e-mail (mail@divearchitects.com) or telephone (020 7407 0955), rather than via this web-site.

We have established ourselves as a young design led practice and feel that being included in the book New Architects 2 – A guide to Britain’s best young architectural practices is recognition of our achievements to date. Wallpaper*magazine also included DIVE in their selection of the 25 most innovative architects in the world.

Creative input from other design disciplines is important; through this we have enjoyed collaborations in competitions as well as exhibitions, taking part in the Whitechapel Open Studio, The Architecture Foundation Make Your Case and in London Open House. The freshness of exposure with different fields is important as a lot can be learnt from each other; therefore we enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary studio.

We have happy clients, which leads to repeat work and aspire to provide a fun working partner in all projects - every project is a joint effort. Our aim is to be good communicators, an essential part of any successful collaboration.

DIVE’s design principles are to provide a strong architectural approach combining conceptual clarity with a large element of playfulness. We want our work to make people smile. We want our work to be personal. Our desire is to make architecture accessible and to build good quality buildings.

Ultimately it evolves around a vision to create individual, innovative and coherent solutions for every project that respond to each specific situation.
