New Build
This contemporary house was designed for a couple of self-builders who had no experience of contemporary architecture, having previously lived in barn conversions. The house takes advantage of its south facing plot with stunning long distance views. Large areas of south facing glazing provide passive solar heating. Space heating by heat pump and water heated by solar panels make this a very energy efficient house. Rainwater to be recycled is collected in the moat around the house, which then becomes an infinity pool. The entire ground floor is open plan to give a spacious feel to the interior. Special attention was paid to lighting so that the house looks exciting at night from both inside and outside.
