Granted planning permission in 2005, this mixed-use scheme in the east end of London introduces a contemporary design into a sensitive conservation area. RCKa have developed an existing shop unit within a standard retail terrace to include three desirabe flats with a central lightwell, extracting the maximum value from the site. Using timber frame construction, the development will be cost-effective and quick to build. The front elevation is clad in timber, the rear in vertical standing-seam zinc.
